We Finally Got The White Stuff!!

I woke up this morning and looked out my window....this was my view. We are supposed to get a total of 4 to 8 inches! It is still snowing. Kay and I shoveled the driveway because Mr. Julie is out of town. Sadly, I do not have a clue how to start the snowblower! Damn!
Here are a few more pictures. It looks like I will have to take out all of my winter running gear again.

Today Kay and I were planning on going to the mall to do some shopping:) Hopefully the roads will be clear...otherwise we are stuck in the house. I promise that I will get caught up on blogging sometime today:)

Happy running, biking, swimming, lifting and surfing! Cheers to you all!

  2. Pretty pictures! I'm with Jennifer, just glad it's not here! We don't do well getting around in the snow in Oregon:)

  3. Thanks Julie for posting those pictures! It only reminds me of the cold long winters we have here in the Midwest. You just make sure that white stuff doesn't make it any further south then the MN-IA boarder!

  4. We had flurries earlier this week. I was at work and my wife was freaking via txt message.

Nothing stuck. Maybe I need to get gas in the snow blower.

  5. I can't believe how much snow you got already.
Do you run in the snow?

Last year we had a lot of snow which is not normal for our country and I didn't like it much. This winter they predict either lots of rain or lots of snow. If I can choose I choose the rain.

  6. OMG-how was I not a follower? You have always been on my blogroll. Wierd wierd but I just noticed it!

Anyway, Oh my!!! For once you are getting snow before us! Nothing here! I sure hope you can make it to the mall! Or at the very least, to the Norstrom Rack!! Have a great day!

  7. Nothing yet in IL, and I already made sure to remind my family members in MN of that. I'll be in MN the end of next week though so if it stays around I'll see it (not that I'm all that excited about it)

  8. Snow! Beautiful! But I'm not ready for it yet! It has been like spring here in Indiana. But we have high winds today and I think the cold is on its way!

Hope you get out shopping or maybe just cuddling with a good book may be even more fun!

  10. Me too! I think it's going to melt away later in the day, but they are calling for more all week!

  11. We are having a warmer day today! Your pictures are beautiful. Hope you were able to get to the mall. I had a great bike ride in decent weather. I still don't know how to dress for the biking/cold though. Running is so much easier. You dress slightly cooler than the weather and you soon warm up!

  12. NICE!! I love snow. The snow we got melted already, but it is coming for sure.

  13. Pretty pics. Snow on the ground let's me know it's time for me to run on the indoor track. Last year I ran in Minnesota in July, it was great compared to the heat of Kansas.

  14. Say it ain't so!!! I must admit (even though I dislike being cold), the snow IS beautiful! And it offers a little change of pace and scenery for running! Bundle up and stay warm!
    :-)

  15. SNOW? You're a world away, Julie, or at least it feels like it. It's like 80 degrees here and I'm NOT bragging, where is our FALL?! I guess I'll just experience it through all of you, thanks for the pictures!!!

  16. I think it's funny that you said "finally" snow, when I sadly won't see any for a month or so. Snowfalls are too few and far b/t here in Chicago!

Check out my blog at: http://sisterbison.blogspot.com/

  17. I can't remember exactly where you live, but my sister lives in Chanhassen... I wonder how much snow she has gotten! Nothing here in Fargo, yet... thankfully!

  20. Beautiful snow pics! That is something I don't know very well. I've only been in snow 3 times in my life! Today was 34°C (93F) here.

  21. I swear if I woke up and saw that i would never run again. Ever.
But you have fun brave lady.

It's lovely. I am such a wimp about the cold though.

  22. To someone that never gets snow, it is lovely. Yes get out the warmer running gear - looks like you need it.

  23. Woah! Too early for snow! That is a LOT of snow!!!

  24. So lucky Julie, I kept scrolling through the pics of snow but didn't find the picture of you running in it!
Next time, go ahead and round up that winter gear, beautiful pics as usual.
And as for my gym nemesis, yes it is a friendly relationship. On normal days, he always says "Hi!"

  26. How beautiful. First snow is always so exciting. Hope you had time to play in the snow, roll in it, build a snowman and make snow angels.

  27. Wow - and it is only fall. ;-) living in the upper midwest we have to be ready for this sort of thing. I think we (madison wi) might be getting a little snow tonight or tomorrow evening. I don't have to be concerned - because I am in san diego for an accounting conference. Yahoo - mid 60's at 8pm. Heavenly.

I do love to see the snow - I have my ski trip to colorado almost all planned and seeing snow gets me antsey. :-)

  28. Oh purdy! I can't wait for snow. I'm going to learn to run in it this year .. one way or another.

Better learn how to run that snowblower! :)

  29. Julie, it's not "finally" got some snow, it's "unfortunatly" got some snow!!! At least that's what I think of it anyway. We had about 2" last Tuesday and there's still a little in the backyard - bleh! It can all go away - I need to live in Southern Cali, I think :). I think it's time for a little winter gear shopping :).
    Love ya, girl!!!

  30. Hi Julie,
So what is that white stuff anyway? I've never seen it before :-) I'm not making a judgment here, but I would never, never, never, live where it snowed. Agin, no judgment :-) Hey, how about those Golphers!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Pretty...but, please don't let it cross into Québec yet :)

You must not have your winter tires on if you're worried about the roads, because us northern people don't ever let a little snow stop us ;)

  32. wow that's a lot of snow for 'early' in the year! seems early to me anyway... but i'm down south where it "snows" once a year at most. so pretty though!

    ReplyDelete
  33. damn, thats a lot of snow, julie!

  36. beautiful photos, I love the first snowfall, but I'm hoping ours waits until after Thanksgiving!!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. oh...I'm dreading our first snow! I don't know how to start our snowblower either so I'm usually out there with a shovel until my husband shows up and asks me what I'm doing!

    ReplyDelete
  38. The snow is just beautiful; I'll trade you some rain for some snow :-) Be safe if you're out on the roads

    ReplyDelete
  39. OMG! It is too early for snow! By Christmas you will be buried in snow drifts! lol Enjoy the white stuff. I'll take the snowday without the snow please :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Oh no! It's way too early for that much snow. It does look beautiful though! I hope you and Kay were able to get out of the house. Good luck and stay warm!
BTW, thanks for your vote of confidence and your kind comments on my blog! I really appreciate it!

  41. Beautiful pictures! I had committed to run with our running group so we went- so wet! I was soaked after 5 miles and the roads were terrible. Glad you were home where it was safe.

  44. Thank you for the link of the virtual race. Beautiful pictures, thanks for sharing. Here we don't know what the snow is.

  45. Thanks for the beautiful pics Julie. I miss the snow from when I lived in Ohio, but I don't miss the cold.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Hope the roads were clear and you got to do some shopping. The snow looks so pretty. Stay warm and have a great week!

  47. Not good for running but it looks beautiful! Hope you got it cleared ok in the end!

  48. Wow, you did get some! Pretty pics. Drive (and run) safely. We're supposed to get some next weekend.

  49. Those pictures are so pretty, but I can't even imagine running in that!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Arggghhh! Go away, white devil, go away!

    ReplyDelete
  51. My gut clenched when I saw this. I'm next, I know it! And I don't have my snow tires on yet. And I don't have my winter running gumption on yet. Yikes!

I just did a "winter-defense" post for myself, to gear up mentally. Yeah, snow is pretty, but for me, it's a momentum killer. Moan! If you keep on well thru winter, maybe you'll keep me going :-)
