Well here we are again Wednesday, my day off! I wish I had a great story to tell about all of the wonderful things that I did today....no such luck. Today was pretty uneventful. We had our furnace and air conditioning system replaced in August and the inspector finally made it to check things out. Here's the problem...our furnace and mechanical room is downstairs and the only way to enter it is by going into our college boy's room. Can I just say, it was a total mess!!! I was so embarrassed because of the state that his room was in that I ended up cleaning it last night. Holy crap, did I find a few things that I wish I wouldn't of! I don't want anyone to think that I was snooping because I was not. I just came across a few things when picking up. Must speak with college boy when he comes home next!
I did thirty push-ups again this morning, thirty this afternoon and I will do thirty more before I go to bed if my arms can handle it:) I stretched real good but I feel a little sore in a few areas. I also ran for the first time today since my little mishap with the frozen slush on Sunday. I just jogged for forty-five minutes on the treadmill...about a 10 minute mile pace. It went okay, but I didn't feel great. My hip is still a little sore and my toes are really bugging me. My toes hurt so bad when I ran my half marathon and they still bug me off and on. I hate it!!! They drive me crazy and I don't understand why or what is wrong!! I still do not know what I am going to do about Sunday's half marathon. I honestly probably will not decide until Saturday evening. I will just see how things feel and make a final decision then.
Adam tagged me to list three things that I want to do or accomplish before I die. Here is my bucket list.
* Run in at least one marathon.....if I live maybe I will do a few more!
* Tavel to Italy, France, Germany, Ireland, England and Greece:)
* I want to see all of my children graduate from college, get married and become parents.
* I want to do 100 push-ups in a row like my daughter:)
* I would love to take a cooking class in Paris like Julia Child...perhaps when I have retired:)
* I would love to go to New York for a fashion show!
* Getting to dance with John Travolta would be awesome..okay thats more like a fantasy:)
* I want to go to another Jon Bon Jovi concert and have him sing to me and only me!! Another fantasy:)
* I would love to co-star in a movie with Ryan Renolds. We would be madly in love and he would totally adore me!!
I think that will do it for my bucket list:) If you have not answered this question in your blog yet..consider your self tagged!! My next post will not be until Sunday, please keep your fingers crossed for me that my body will let me run my shceduled half marathon:) Oh, and you can say a little prayer that I will move a few minutes faster than my first half!!
Also, check out Jill's blog at onelittlegirl because she is hosting a great give away!!

Sending fast running vibes!!!
ReplyDeleteWhy be an extra when you can co-star as Ryan's love interest!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes on your half if you do it. If you do not; you will have many more in the future! Loved your bucket list :)
ReplyDeleteHey big sis! Good luck this weekend on your next Half Marathon! You will do great! Funny about your 18 year old and his room. That was me!
ReplyDeleteI love you list!
ReplyDeleteKick but in your 1/2!
Enjoy the half. All those push ups will allow you a bit more strength this time around. You will kill it!
ReplyDeleteGood luck. I hope you can run it. Great list!
ReplyDeleteWTG on the pushups! Best of luck with the half, whether you do it or not. Didn't you just do one? I'd personally still be wiped out.
ReplyDeleteThat would be so much fun to take a cooking class in Paris, I finally just saw Julie and Julia and loved it.
ReplyDeleteLove how you said you jogged on the treadmill at a 10 minute pace...that's my normal pace! : )
You'll be able to do your half, before you know it you'll be training for a full.
Very cool list! Kinda hope you do the half...love learning from your experience :)
ReplyDeleteGood job on the treadmill run...that's about my pace too.
Oh, Have a Blast at your half this weekend! woo-hoo! That is so fun. Ride the Olympic wave of motivation to carry you through to a pr;-)
ReplyDeleteMy college daughter had her first-ever-boyfriend over last Friday for dinner. Maybe this is just because we're new to the whole dating scene but when I went to work Friday, I smelled things in that room and couldn't walk one stop w/o stepping on "something." When I came home, she had not only picked everything up, but moved her bed, AND painted her door white (which she had painted orange at one point in her garbage-can phase of middle school life), which not only looked better but also took away that "smell." Okay, most of it was thrown in her closet but I could SEE the FLOOR!!! College girl lives off campus so I am relishing in her clean room for this week, it's so nice! Maybe college boy needs to bring a date home??? And hahah, I'm totally curious what you found...I wonder if I've found similar from the...um...14 year old twin #2, how informed me a couple weeks ago, 5 minutes before he was headed to the movies, he had a "girlfriend" and needed cash to pay her way. Huh? Or Lordy, I think we need to backup about 10 years and start over.
ReplyDeleteOk girly, have an awesome half marathon - I'll be rooting for you here, listen hard for my yelling!!!
GL on the Half ...and BonJovi is coming to thne Gophers TCF Field this summer there's your shot!
ReplyDeleteGood list! Best of luck on your half marathon. I hope your toes don't bother you and you get your PR! :)
ReplyDeleteIs it the skin on your toes or your actual toes that hurt? If it is the skin, you may need bigger shoes. When I started running longer, I had to go up a full shoe size. If it is your actual toes... I don't know. I hope they are better soon. Good luck this weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat's too bad about your toes! I'm going back and forth about a Sunday marathon too. I still can't decide! Keep me posted. I hope the rest of your week goes well, take care of the toes!
ReplyDeleteHi Julie,
ReplyDeleteThe running skirts seem to run big. I usually wear a small and I wore an extra small(darn, right?!). They also had some cute muscle tanks in all of the cute colors with "I heart running." The heart part was a real heart. Really cute stuff for when it warms up in your area! xoxo meg
LOL - I can only imagine what my parents would have found in my bedroom when I was in college. Weee doggies.
ReplyDeleteI think you totally have a sub 2 hour half in you. It looks like you will have a cold race, but no snow! You.can.do.it!!
I loved the list. I am sure you will run the 1/2 and kick ass in it!!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck.
Ohhh Its gonna be interesting when the son comes home. Between what ever you found and him being upset that this room was touched.
ReplyDeleteLove the bucketlist.
Ha! I think I have the younger version of your son at my house! His room is so bad he's started sleeping in the hallway. I feel so bad for his future wife!
ReplyDeleteKeeping my fingers crossed for your race. Can't wait to hear about it either way. Have a very wonderful weekend whatever you do:)
I love your list! Especially traveling to Europe :) So fun! Good luck with the discussion with your son, eeep!
ReplyDeletenice bucket list. I hope you are well enough to run this Sunday! but if not, meh! There will be other races :-)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your half! It will be a good one!
ReplyDeleteNice bucket list. The thing is to really work towards doing all of those.
I get tiny fractures in the bones just behind my toes sometimes. Makes my toes hurt. Shoes with good front-foot support sorts this out.
Great bucket list! Good luck with your decision this weekend!
ReplyDeleteGo for it Julie - that ½ marathon I mean. If I could run one a couple of months back with the state my neck and guts were in, and at my age, I'm sure you can. Go, go, go!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I'd like to meet Deena Kastor too. I'm looking forward to seeing her run in the London Marathon in April. Poetry in motion!
I'm a total pushup flunkie. I tried moving my arms outward like you suggested a couple of posts ago, but that still didn't help. haha I'm hopeless!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your half! Hope you are able to run confortably and do well! :)
90 pushups in one day - awesome! Good luck with the half.
ReplyDeleteYeah...never pick up a college boy's room unless you're ready to find stuff you don't want to ;-)
ReplyDeleteWith the toe issue - are you sure your shoes are sizes properly? I ended up with a black nail around my first half marathon and realized I needed to go up a half size.
Good luck with your run Sunday!
Have fun running your half - I hope you do it and that your toes end up being happy. I also hope you end up finding a great running skirt - I think they are awesome! Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Julie,
ReplyDeleteI love your bucket list!
The race I signed up for was the Get in Gear 5K. Are you doing it this year?
I was just rereading through your list.... You should take a trip to Alaska around the same time that one of those Marathons is being raced. Make sure that Deena Kastor is there (meet her) and then go fishing! 3 birds, one stone. score. :)
ReplyDeleteYeahhhhh, so having my Grandpa and Dad in town was interesting. :) I think that my wife has just a few gray hairs now - and she is only 27!
'kay, what did you find in college boy's room? And what do you think about those new 'shoes' that fit each toe encased in rubber? They were recently featured in TIME magazine. Liked your bucket list a lot, though I don't know who that woman is......
ReplyDeleteHey there!
ReplyDeleteI DO live in Sonoma, and I'm not slated to run the Napa/Sonoma Half, but I'd LOVE to cheer you on! That would be cool to connect! I couldn't find an email to connect w/you so that's why I'm leaving it here as a comment.
Great bucket list!!!! I also love me some Ryan Reynolds. I haven't been tagged, so I may have to do a list of my own
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I spaced out the fact that you might run the half on Sunday! I was trying to go off the top of my head! Anyway, I added you, sorry I forgot and I can't wait to hear how you do!! Hope the toes hold up. My sister has had a lot of problems with hers. She lost all her toenails-ICKK! You are too kind about the pictures. I can assure you I look like hell when I get out of bed in the morning and I'm not lookin' too hot at this very moment as I'm picking through my kids Valentine's candy and vegging out in my husband's sweatpants!!! Super good luck this weekend. I WILL be thinking of you!
ReplyDeleteLOL. My wife would have a fit if someone noticed that we still had those xmas pictures up. In fact, (and i'm not even kidding) they came down about 10 min after I took that picture! :) Still not sure how they made it that long.
