I am back. We did get a new computer....woo hoo! We ended up getting another PC with the understanding that I would get a MAC...possibly for Christmas:) This whole having one computer thing is getting old. It is hard when there are three people in the family who would all like dibs on the internet for different reasons.
* As far as the running goes I have been taking it easy. This week I have had a four mile and six mile run. My legs feel great but my energy level is not back to 100%.
* Today was my day off and I went in a had my hair done. I am a happy girl:)
* Kay's cross country season is offically over. She had a great year and improved so much. She now currently has two fall b-ball leagues going on. Her high school try-outs are in November.
* This Saturday I am heading into St. Cloud to run with my running group! It has been at least two months since I have run with them. I am looking forward to a Saturday breakfast run with my St. Cloud River Runner peeps:)
* I have been putting my fall and winter racing schedule together. So far it looks like this.....
The Monster Dash Half...10-30-10
The Anoka Jingle Bell Run 5K 11-28-10
The Snow Flake Shuffle 5K 12-11-10
The Polar Dash 10K 01-01-11
The St. Paul Securian Half 01-23-11
I am hoping to catch up on blogs and see what everyone has been up to:) I have read a few amazing race reports! Congrats to all of you who ran like the wind:) Congrats to Slomo, Glenn, Johann, Judi, Adam, Aimee, Marcia, Anna Maria, The Boy Scout, Rad Runner, Lam, Anita, Nickie, Kate, P, Angie, Julie, Kellie, Henniemavis, Running Fox and Brett! I know that I am forgetting some runners. If I remember more I will come back and add to my list:)
Happy running, biking, swimming and lifting! Cheers to you all!

Hey, those races sound like so much fun, so festive and snow-related! I love the way you're already planning your winter fun. BS has already found another marathon, it's good to move on, right?!
ReplyDeleteI totally relate with feeling wonderful after a hair day, I love that feeling.
Congrats on the new computer, I bet you can't wait for Christmas!
Take Julie, keep resting!
meg
2nd!!!!! Not first, but with your mass following, I'll take it :).
ReplyDeleteI was just looking in the Minneapolis area for a half for a friend looking to do a half (he lives in Ft Dodge, IA); have you done the Securian Half before? Fast? 10' of snow? Hum.
I am envious for all your racing, I miss it so much. Hopefully someday I can run again and be as awesome as you!!
I'm not sure what I'd do without my laptop, it's not a Mac, but it's MINE and no one elses. Hehe.
Get your rest, girl, so you can attack those upcoming races with your speed legs!!
xoxo
yes! i understand when it comes to the family computer. we are there now as well. have fun with your running group. i have found one or two here to go out with. yet, i never have the window to work their events into my schedule. someday? maybe after soccer season? take care! oh any more thoughts about another full marathon in the future?
ReplyDeleteSo excited that you finally got a new computer!! Your race schedule looks great!
ReplyDeleteYes, your legs won't be 100% for a while, rest up as much as you can. And don't push the pace to much - the risk of injury is high after marathon. Yay for a Mac for Christmas. I want one too!
ReplyDeleteNice racing schedule Julie. Take it easy for a while after your marathon. Yay for new computer!
ReplyDeletewe're the same at our house with the computer...i would love a laptop of my very own. a girl can dream, right? your winter schedule looks way fun. i think i'm gonna have to sneak a jingle bell 5k in just for good measure. it wouldn't be christmas without one... :)
ReplyDeleteUm, Julie, aren't you forgetting something? Where's the picture of the new hair cut? Oh, and one more thing to look forward to is the Golphers stopping their 6 game losing streak.
ReplyDeleteI like your racing schedule! A nice variety in there and cute race names!
ReplyDeleteyay!! Welcome back!! Your fall/winter racing schedule looks nice and motivating! :D
ReplyDeleteIt must be difficult sharing a computer, I bet everyone wants it all the time! Sounds like Kay's a busy girl! I love the sound of all your christmassy wintery races! I need to find some like that, I love all things christmas!
ReplyDeleteYeah for new computers! You've got a great winter of racing lined up!
ReplyDeleteSounds like some fun races on your schedule. It still feels funny to read about snow races in December, that's our summer holiday season! Have fun with the running group this weekend.
ReplyDeleteA MAC - well, somebody certainly is special! Continue to take it easy on your running. Remember, you ran a marathon and then a week later gave a big effort during a 5K. The body needs time to fully recover.
ReplyDeleteHmmm. Maybe I should look into running that half in January. I'll be traveling in December and the first part of January - for family and for a conference - so I will need a reason to keep myself logging miles and not just eating holiday baked goods.
ReplyDeleteThose races look like so much fun, I loved themed runs!
ReplyDeleteNothing like getting your hair done, I just went last week, and was so relaxed I was drooling.
I think Mac's fit into Christmas Stockings, don't they??
Great schedule! Did you do the Monster Dash last year? It was a really fun race-I wish we could do it again! Nothin' like getting your hair done! Mine is just horrible right now.... Enjoy the run with your running club!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see that you have a new computer and you're back. I've missed as I always love reading your posts.
ReplyDeleteWoohoo: you're doing a half on the virtual run weekend. I think you will be the one with the longest distance in our run.
See you're doing a run on the first day of the New Year, what a great way to start it. I'm doing one on the last day. Did it last year too and found it a great way to finish a year.
You have some fun things on your schedule.
PS: don't forget to wear something pink at your half :)
ReplyDeleteBrrrrrr! Looks like some cold running ahead for you!
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun races!
ReplyDeleteI would go crazy without a computer lol. I am probably addicted... But I'd rather read blogs at night than watch tv so I don't have cable... But yeah Josh and I have 5 computers at home between the two of us! Haha. In our defense, two of them are for work so they are really only used at work...
ReplyDeleteGlad you are up and running both literally and computer-wise! Don't feel one bit guilty about resting up--it's a very important part of recovery.
ReplyDeleteGreat winter racing schedule!
Nice race schedule. I like the monster half. Sounds like fun. Do people run with costumes on? If so, will you?
ReplyDeleteI bet it feels nice to back in the real world now that you have your new computer.
All those races sound cold!!! Brrrrr!!!!
ReplyDeletesounds like a fun, but cold, race schedule :)
ReplyDeleteI hate the cold but I LOVE running in it!!!
2 b-ball leagues....roll right from one sport to the next:)
ReplyDeletegreat fall / winter schedule!
that battle for the computer....I can only imagine how that will work at my house in 10 years. Will have to get everyone their own noetbook and we can just send msgs to each other?:) haha
have a great wknd
Derek
A 10K on New Year's Day! Looks like someone will have to steer clear of the wine on NYE!!! :P
ReplyDeleteNice schedule Julie -- lot's of fun ahead!!!
ReplyDeleteSeriously you guys need a few more computers. Just my wife and I have 4 and that is not even counting the iphone and HTC EVO phones ... they are just mini computers!
Oh boy do I hear you on the competition for the computer. We have four of us in my house. Thankfully I have alot of free time at my job, so typically I don't use the home computer much. Sometimes I think we need a sign-up sheet.
ReplyDeleteYay for fall and winter racing! All of those races sound like they'd be a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteYay for a new computer too! :)
yay! good to see you up and running again (no pun intended)
ReplyDeleteHi Julie!
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing! Cograts to your daughter on her cross country season. Cross country is an awesome sport!
The races you've got planned sound like fun. I am racing the Monster Dash and Polar Dash, for sure, and thinking about the St. Paul Securian Half. I hope to see you there. We have to run into each other at a race some day.
Julie,
ReplyDeleteWelcome back!! I hope your new computer is working great. You have a great racing schedule this fall. Don't push too hard and have tons of fun.
Wohoo, you are back!! L) Love your race schedule!!! I will keep an eye on it and will let you know when I'm "Close by". :) Everbody is planning for 2011 now, so exciting!!! :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you have a pretty nice fall schedule lined up!
ReplyDeleteLooks like some fun races!
ReplyDeleteWe have two Mac laptops and are buying another computer because none of us like to share LOL.
I totally want to schedule a few shorter races this winter...love your schedule :)
ReplyDeleteMy husband's laptop is a Mac...he's hooked!
It will be, for you, a busy and competitive november. However your race schedule looks great. You wont believe but we don't succeed in finding an appropriate race in november, may we join you?
ReplyDeleteCongrats for the new "toy".
A busy winter Julie! That's great and it will keep you outta trouble! Rest up girl you are going to be busy! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteNice to have you back online Julie! I can't imagine life without a computer....
ReplyDeleteHope to see you next weekend!
ReplyDeleteHi there!
ReplyDeleteGlad ya got a computer;-)
and love the names of all those races. The titles would be incentive enough for me to sign up;-)
I have my Healdsburg half next weekend (the same co did the Carneros Wine Country Half you did our here in Sonoma) so it should be great race during harvest over here.
Happy Friday!
Hi Julie, seems you and everyone else thought I was being too tough on myself. I'm sticking with my approach. I am going to China, Thailand, and Singapore. I'll take pics.
ReplyDeletehi there!
ReplyDeleteYou've got a very nice schedule..Congrats on running.
I LOVE all of the short distance races during the winter! You're going to be a speed demon by new year.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the shout out! :)
Great race schedule Julie! Congrats to your daughter on her cross country season :)
ReplyDeleteHave a nice Sunday!
Looks like a great race schedule! Those shorter races are going to make you even more speedy!!
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of a Jingle Bell run in November, but I was also expecting a Turkey Trot in December.
ReplyDeleteI like that your husband is not "Mr. Julie" when he is in charge of acquiring the new PC. Nice.
Those races all sound like fun and a great way to make winter go fast!
ReplyDeleteIt's always so much fun putting the schedule together! I'll look for you at the finish of the Monster Half. I'll be there waiting for the 5K to start. Good luck!
